It's Christmas Time Again!

I can't believe it is Christmas time again! It was just one year ago we had our 2nd son Jaiden and he has been the best Christmas gift we could have ever received. Since we live so far away from family we try to send out a yearly Christmas letter or card to keep friends and family in the loop of our lives. We have found it incredibly simple and elegant to upload a photo to Shutterfly, customize a Christmas Card and have it shipped to us so we can send it out asap. We have never had any issues with how the cards have turned out and people always tell us how much they enjoy our cards. We have been extremely satisfied using Shutterfly to create memorable gifts for those we love such as: A Photo Calendar we gave to both sets of our parents filled with pictures from our wedding in 2007; An unforgettable Gift Idea my wife bought me for Father's Day was a photo mug with a picture of our 1st son Josiah. WOW it's almost been at year since I have made a post

Well I'm sad to say this it has almost been a year and we haven't written one post. We last wrote about Jaiden's birth and now he's going to be 1. This year has been another year of changes for the Joneses. I think we started out the year saying this will be a "normal" year and it ended up being life changing.

First we have the "meeting" the day Tim and I met (April 28, 2006). Then within a year we started dating, got engaged and married on the same day we met (April 28, 2007). Now I look back at this year and think what were we thinking but know at that time in our lives it felt like forever. 6 1/2 months later we found out we were going to have our first child. (November 2007)

Jaiden Charles Jones

Well, I know that it has been 2 weeks since we had Jaiden but it's been a little crazy around here now that we have two babies and trying to recover from a c-section. For all who didn't know Jaiden was born on 12/08/2009 (exactly 16 months from when Josiah was born) at 4:41 p.m. He was 7lb-9oz and 20 3/4 inches. That morning I started having contractions and we went to the hospital. After 1-1/2 hours of being on a monitor the nurse came in and told us that my contractions were not strong enough to stay in the hospital but they didn't like Jaiden's heart rate. (it was dipping low every so often) The nurse said that they were going to induce me. While in the hospital I started getting really cold and my body was aching. They moved us to a birthing room and on the way I started having the shakes. They got me hooked up to everything and then took my temperature found I had a feaver of 102.4. They called the doctor and put me on IV's to get fluid into my body. They also gave me Tylenol to help get the fever down. While this was all going on Jaiden's heart rate was over 200 beats a minute (this is extremaly high for babies) and my white blood cell count was also too high. Within thirty minutes the doctor decided we needed to do a c-section before the infection got into Jaiden's body. We didn't want this to happen but also knew that God was taking care of us and was guiding the decisions of the doctors and nurses. The c-section went great and Jaiden came out crying and healthy. My recovery has been going good. I'm able to walk around and am okay taking Motrin IB. Jaiden is growing and gaining weight. He does have stomach issues and we are praying that they will settle down quickly. It's been hard for me to not be able to hold Josiah but I'm very happy to know that we have family close who are giving him the love that I can't. Josiah love's his baby brother and gives him kisses all the time. God is truly watching out for our family and has shown us so much this past year. Well, we celebrated Josiah's 1st birthday yesterday. We shared the day with a few close friends and family which we could have invited may more. It was truly a fun day to watch Josiah interact with all his friends since he is a social butterfly. Dani's parents were gracious enough to host our party since we could not fit everyone in our 2 bedroom apartment. My parents sent several gifts as well since they couldn't be here for the special day. We are very thankful and appreciative to all who gave gifts to our son and participated is his birthday. Well today has been a nice slow day. The first that we have had since begging of this month. Today found out how to change the background on our blog and I'm really excited! Yesterday we said good by to our new french friends at our farewell party and Tim (with a few other adults) took them to the airport today. Tim and I have talked about how our life is going to seem boring now that they are gone. Wow lots has happen since the last time we wrote on this blog. We went to Indiana for the church of God camp meeting but we also got to see family. It was a fun trip. When we got back Tim preached the next day and then Wednesday the 8th the french students arrived. We have been to Moody Gardens, Galveston Beach, Schlitterbon in Galveston, Nasa Space Center, Kemah, Ice Skating, Shopping at the Galleria, Shopping at the Outlet Mall, Shopping at Willowbroke Mall, Mountasia and Astros baseball game. Excited that our schudle will be getting back to some norm mostly for Josiah. He will be a year in just two weeks we don't even know where all the time has gone. Our baby boy is getting to big. He's working on his 9th tooth and is trying to walk. He's only taken a few steps but if there is a wall, talbe, couch or anything else to hold on to he is every where. He has his balance but not the confidence to go with it. All I care is that he is walking before the new baby comes. I'm now 20 weeks and we find out on August 6th what baby #2 will be. We are leaning twords a girl but would be happy with eather. Well that about does it for today hopefull we will write sooner then later.

It's been a while since we have updated so we are SORRY to our family! We recently attended the Houston Livestock and Rodeo so there are a few pictures of that event. Josiah really seems to love three things in life so we have posted pictures of Bath Time, Eating and Being Naked! This has been a real enjoyable time in life because he is crawling from room to room and pulling himself up on anything he can get his hands on! His favorite words are Da-Da and Ma-Ma but we think those simply represent play-time and eat-time. Our church and apartment ministry has been going really well. We are preparing for Easter time by planning an Easter Egg Hunt for our apartment complex and by being apart of our Easter Breakfast at the church. We spent most of this morning hanging door-hangers inviting people around our church to our Easter services. Josiah's First Christmas

It was a very Merry CHRISTmas! The Lord has blessed Dani and I so much during this last year that we are filled with great joy! It has also been a new season of experiencing the love that God poured into this world by sending His Son Jesus! It is through the birth, life, death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ that we can have Hope here on earth and for eternity! We are so thankful that God has used us in many ways this year to minister to the teenagers in our church and the people in our apartment complex through Apartment Life. God has blessed us this year with a beautiful son which we name Josiah based upon the OT story of King Josiah. God has blessed us this year by providing for our financial needs through family and friends. We have posted some pictures that represent some of these joys! If you have never surrendered your heart to the Savior of this world then don't wait another minute and stop right now to give your life to Him! Confess your need for salvation, ask for forgiveness for your sins and turn your life over to Him. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Well, its been a few weeks since we have updated but there have been some pretty significant events that have taken place the last several weeks. It was Josiah's first snow in Houston and it was enough to make snowballs. Check out the photos! It was also Josiah's first rice cereal feeding! He is doing such a good job with sucking the slop it is amazing! Although, after tonight's feeding he decided to share some with mommy! Our little man is getting so big-so fast! We took him to the doctor where he got two shots and I wasn't sure who was crying more mommy or Josiah! He is now weighing in at just over 16lbs and he is still in the 95 percentile for his height. He is going to be bigger than my brother Todd! Hope you enjoy the pics!

We have found out that Tim and I are not the best bloggers. We have the best of intentions but some how it seems to be pushed off. Josiah is going to be 4 months this Monday and can I say WOW the time flies. I look at pictures from when he was first born and think to myself was he really that small? Well any ways we have been busy but whats new. It seems like November came and went with in a week. We got to go visit Tim's famly for thanksgiving and see his best friend finally get married. (LOL about the finally) We left Nov. 20 to drive to Oklahoma for Cordell's wedding then flew out of Oklahoma that morning to Denver Colorado. We got to go to a Denver Broncos games with Josiah (first mistake). The weather wasn't too cold until you got to the very top of the stadium where we sat and had the wind blowing on us then it was very cold. Josiah needless to say didn't like the wind and then when he would get to sleep the crowd would start yelling and stomping and wake him up. Josiah and I didn't last past the first quarter then Tim met us at half time and we left. When looking back we wanted Josiah to be apart of this milestone but should have left him with his aunts Sara and Megan but what can we say you live and learn. We stayed at Sara and Justin's apartment on sunday night then drove to Casper Wy. Josiah was such a trooper through all the traveling we have such a great baby. All of the family loved meeting Josiah and spending time with us. We feel the time went too fast but it was great to get away and be with family. On the way home we realized that Josiah along with us were in 4 states in one day. I know that has to be some type of record. We have now un packed everything and are now re-packing for the state youth convention this weekend in Austin. It should be a good weekend but we will be ready to be done with the traveling. Its crazy the way things will change when you have a baby to think about. Well I think that I have said everything I have to say so I will say goodby for now and hopefully will return with more soon.

Josiah is now two months old and I can't even believe it. I was looking at pictures from when he was first born and he looks so big now. He is still in the 90 percentile for his weight and length. We are hoping for a tall boy and the odds are in his favor. I know that you might think this is hard because I'm (Dani) only 5ft 2in. Good thing for Josiah that boys in my family and Tim's run tall. Every day with Josiah is a new and exciting day. He is "talking" so much now and his facial expressions are priceless. I have tried to video him but he seems to know when its coming because he just looks at you with that face of "did you want me to do something?" I did however get some good video of him playing in his bathtub. He likes it when we start to splash him because he knows that it will be okay to make a mess. He smiles all the time now and he's trying to sit up on his own. People are impressed with the way he will go to anyone and he doesn't really cry. He's a very good baby and we are so happy to be his parents.

Galveston

Tim and I went to Galveston on Thursday September 4th just a week before Hurricane Ike came and took away the beach. The beach was so nice and day was beautiful, it was was such a blessing for us to go and visit it with our son. Galveston is a special place to us because this is the place where Tim proposed to me and then were we spent our wedding night. We wanted to share this with our son and were very happy that we got to. Here are a few pictures of our day out.

Hurricane Ike

Well as all of you may know our family went through our first hurricane. I can say that we were very happy to have family so close who took the news casters serious. We lost power Saturday morning around 3 a.m. and the power was returned to us on Tuesday night. We were very blessed that God gave us such great weather after the hurricane. I can say that Sunday night I got cold with just having the windows open. We were also blessed to know we had water that we could cook with and friendly neighbors who shared their generators with those who didn't have one. Tim and I drove around Tomball Saturday afternoon to see how everything looked and check on some people in our church who lived out here. There was more damage then I expected to see. It's crazy to see trees uprooted that had been growing for many years. On Sunday we didn't have church because there was no power. Later that day our family (including Josiah) made our way back to our apartment. If you're thinking it wasn't a good idea for us to take Josiah with us we thought about that but with me breast feeding him we knew if we got stuck we would still be able to feed him. We made it out of Tomball fine and as we were leaving we were looking at some cars stuck on the other side of the street. Then thinking about it we realized that the main street to get back into Tomball was flooded. At that point there was no turning around and we would have to find another way back. We made it to our apartment and found out that we didn't have power but we did have water. We got some more clothes, took a shower and were off again. We took pictures of the neighborhood next to our apartment where most of the fences were down. We went to the church so Tim could get some work and check out what the damage looked like. Mostly outside with a few leeks on the inside. One of our portables had a tree fall on it, our garden shack which held the riding lawn mower roof blew off, the daycare's playground had trees and branches everywhere over the equipment and last we had lots of trees in the back of the church that looks like a war zone. After taking pictures we started to make our way back to Tomball. It was crazy to see all the cars out including us. Most street lights were out so if you got stuck going the way of most traffic it would be a slow process. We drove by a Wal-mart that had about 100 people sitting outside waiting in line to go get food and then we saw a Kroger that had about 40 people in line. The sign by the door said only 30 people in at one time and we don't have Ice, bread or batteries. We made one more stop before going home and that was to check on a family who also lived in Tomball. We had not been able to get a hold of them by phone. When we got to the house we didn't see anyone and found out later that they went to there families house. We finally made it home and the crazy thing was a roundtrip that should have only taken a hour to 1 1/2 hours ended up taking 4 hours. Today we are getting back to somewhat normal. Tim and I got to sleep in a bed last night compared to the air mattress we have been sleeping on since Friday. Josiah has been doing good for everything that has been going on but his schedule is off. That's due to the change that we went through and more people for him to be held by. He's starting to make more noise and smile. You will see pictures from Hurricane Ike and then some of Josiah. I will also put some pictures of Josiah at bath time too. He loves taking baths with Tim and its fun to watch them bond. Its time for me to say goodbye and hopefully we will write again soon.

6 Days old

We have had fun playing with Josiah. It's crazy to think how parenthood just falls into place. We are so blessed with the son that God gave us. He doesn't really cry and is just a happy baby. He is alert, loves to look into your eyes and takes everything in. I know that this might sound funny but I love the way he sneezes because he sounds like a adult and even gets the achoo in there. He slept 5 hours through last night and I know that Tim and I couldn't believe that we got 5 hours of straight sleep. Tim is an amazing husband and father. He has been keeping up with work and taking care of the two of us. At night he wakes up with me and when Josiah wakes up he finds out how he can help. Most of the time I tell him to go back to sleep because I know he has to go to work the next morning and I get to take naps with Josiah. Tim and I can both say that we have fallen in love with this little guy.

Josiah is almost 1 day old and he is doing great! We have changed him to a more stylish outfit so he can be a ladies man although being a Jones I am sure he is a natural ladies man! He has spent most of the day sleeping, eating and pooing, and has had several visitors today. Here are some more pics and finally a video. Enjoy!

Grand Entrance

Josiah has made his grand entrance about 6:15pm on 08-08-08 and he is 7lbs-12oz and 21" long! It was a long day beginning at 5am but was all worth it when we got to hold our son! God has blessed us with a beautiful healthy child and my amazing wife made it all the way through the labor with a natural birth. She was a real trooper! Here are some pics and a video for you all to check out. Please refrain from calling tonight please except for family. We're both very exhausted. Water Breaking

Okay we have some progress! Dani's water broke on its own at 1pm. Here are some pictures before the water broke and now the contractions are coming on a little stronger. Josiah is on his way...hopefully!

Hooked Up

Dani is hooked up to the IV and she is getting induced this morning. The doctor will be in to break her water soon and hopefully that will send her into labor. Josiah is simply content with staying put for now but we will meet him very soon. He is going to have a sweet birthdate of 08-08-08! Please pray for us especially Dani because we are going to have a natural birth! Peace.

The Night Before...

We are on the eve of having our first baby. It is a little eerie because we are probably going to be induced tomorrow so knowing the day your life is going to change is kind of strange. I guess it felt a little different when it was all going to be a surprise, but nevertheless we are excited and I know Dani is ready to get this baby out! Since our due date passed 9 days ago it seems as though she is going to be pregnant forever but that is about to change. We know God has blessed us with a baby boy and we are going to name him Josiah after the 8 yr old king in Jerusalem in the old testament. If you would like to read up on him his story is found in the book of 2 Kings 22-23 and you will find the reason we are going to name our son Josiah! See you on the flip side.

Holding Pattern

We are in a holding pattern right now waiting for the grand entrance of our new son Josiah James Jones. I know God is teaching us about patience and trusting Him as we wait upon Him. These are very exciting times and we cannot wait to meet our new son!
